If you’re new to making this kind of art, here are a few warming up projects to get you started! In these projects, it is assumed you already installed the Knitwise Swatches.
Also, it is advisable to make Photoshop’s Layers and Swatches panels (unless Photoshop is showing Adobe tutorials or recent file list) easily accessible. If any of them are turned off on your end, make it visible by selecting “Windows / Layers” or “Windows / Swatches” menu entries respectively. Size of icons in each Panel can be adjusted in flyout menus of each panel (4 horizontal bars in the upper right corner of the panel).
